I've always enjoyed art and music. I have been in commercial art and design. The last 30 years of my working life was spent as a violin and viola teacher.

I started watercolour painting in the early 1980's because my wife said she wanted some pictures to hang on the wall. This I dutifully did, but struggled a lot at the beginning. Things did improve but I stopped painting in the mid 90's. I started again in 2008 and couldn't remember how to do it. As I used to tell my violin pupils "...it only gets better if you practice". The same applies to watercolour painting. I should remember my own advice.
