Malcolm commenced painting in 1998 after retiring from 30 years in Engineering. He is mainly self taught and drew inspiration initially from artists such as David Bellamy and Alwyn Crawshaw.

He portrays his work in several mediums but prefers the translucency of watercolour. He undertakes all manner of subject matter such as seascapes, flowers, portraits etc., but his preference is for landscape painting. He particularly likes to create mood and atmosphere in his paintings..

He demonstrates, exhibits and tutors at several venues in the Nottinghamshire region.
