Mike was born 1941 in Arnold, Nottinghamshire. He has been keen on art from a very young age and at the age of 12 years passed a scholarship to go to the Nottingham Technical School of Art. This gave him the opportunity to be taught some of the finer skills and techniques that would have been required should he have chosen to enter the art profession. At the age of 15 years he decided not to make it his career and instead entered the engineering profession. He studied electronics and became a hardware/software design engineer with an international company. His work took him to many places around the world and although it was all very demanding it was also very rewarding. In September 2000 he retired early due to ill health. It was the ideal time for him to take up his passion again, so he joined the Arnold Art Society the same year.
Though Mike painted in oils many years ago, his medium now is mainly watercolour and occasional pen and ink. He undertakes commissions quite regularly with most subjects considered.
High resolution prints are available and reproduced on heavy acid free art card, with border to assist in framing.
This page contains only a small portion of his work. If you are interested in commissioning Mike to do a painting or for purchasing some of his work, then please feel free to contact him.
